BSc (Hons) Product Design

This well established course has continually evolved to the changing demands of the design industry and continues to produce graduates who make a real impact. Accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers, this course offers the chance to either gain a BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) degree.

Overview

BSc (Hons) Product Design Predator Bicycle Camera Mounts by Alex Giordano Set within state-of-the-art industry standard facilities, BU Product Design students benefit from a design centre featuring modern manufacturing and technical workshops, a specialist CAD laboratory, as well as rapid prototyping equipment.

The work placement allows our students to increase their employability even further by spending at least 40 weeks in industry. Recent placements have taken place in companies including Ford of France, Johnson & Johnson, Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd and BT Labs.

As well as displaying final year projects in the annual Festival of Design & Innovation, students also have the opportunity to commercially exploit their final year projects and turn design dreams into a commercial reality with support from BU Innovations Ltd.
